The European SUNRISE project (SUstaiNable inteRventions and healthy behaviours for adoleScent primary prEvention of cancer with digital tools), funded by the Horizon Europe programme, continues to make steady and significant progress toward its goal of strengthening cancer prevention from adolescence onwards. The project leverages innovative digital solutions and participatory approaches to promote healthy behaviours and sustainable interventions for young people through the collaboration of partners from eight European countries: Greece, Switzerland, Slovenia, Spain, Cyprus, Italy, Belgium, and Romania.

On 23–24 June 2026, the 6th General Assembly Meeting of the project was successfully held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, hosted by Alma Mater Europaea at the New University. During the two productive days, project partners reviewed the progress of the pilot activities being implemented across the eight participating countries, exchanged experiences, and discussed the advancement of the various work packages.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the partners agreed on the project’s next steps, defining specific actions, responsibilities, and timelines for the continued implementation, evaluation, dissemination of results, and long-term sustainability of the project.

Through the ongoing collaboration and shared commitment of all partners to promoting adolescent health and preventing cancer, the SUNRISE project continues to develop sustainable, innovative, and digitally supported approaches to primary cancer prevention across Europe.
