The European project SUNRISE (SUstaiNable inteRventions and healthy behaviours for adoleScent primary prEvention of cancer with digital tools), funded by the Horizon Europe programme, continues to progress steadily and dynamically, aiming to strengthen cancer prevention starting already from adolescence. The project utilizes innovative digital solutions and participatory approaches to promote healthy behaviours and sustainable interventions for young people, through the collaboration of partners from eight European countries (Greece, Switzerland, Slovenia, Spain, Cyprus, Italy, Belgium, and Romania).
On 26–27 January 2026, the 5th Plenary Meeting of the project was successfully held in Rome. Two productive days brought together the project partners from the participating countries through meaningful exchanges of views, constructive discussions, and targeted activities.
During the meeting, the project’s progress was thoroughly reviewed, while the interventions implemented in the eight pilot countries were presented and discussed, along with the improvements that each partner is expected to achieve.
From the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), Dr. Kleio Koutra, Associate Professor and Director of the Laboratory of Applied Social Research and Social Work (SoRSoW), participated in the meeting. Representing the BMI Laboratory of HMU, researcher Mr. Vasileios Kilintzis also took part in the plenary meeting.
